Integrations can be complicated and painful to build. Linking your legacy code to someone else’s legacy code is almost never an enjoyable experience. What if it wasn’t necessary? What if you could simply send an email and have a service instantly respond with the information you wanted. No messy integrations. No long-timeline development projects. Well…that’s what we’ve build with our Patriot Search by Email product.

With Patriot Search by Email, all you need to do is send us an email with a list of the names you’d like to search. Our system will read the email, run a patriot search (OFAC Search) on each name, and respond with the results, usually in fewer than 10 seconds.

This might not seem like much, but the normal process for most companies to run a patriot search includes the steps below:

  • Open web browser.
  • Find a website to perform the patriot search. (hopefully bookmarked)
  • Type a name in the search box. (wait…)
  • Read the results and decide if any of the matches are “close enough”.
  • Take a screenshot of the search to prove that your person is not on the list.
  • Upload the screenshot to your processing system to be stored with the order.

Depending on the focus and motivation of your employees, this process can take between 1 and 5 minutes for each name. It also comes with the potential for human error since a person is deciding whether or not to include the name as a match based on whatever criteria they choose to use each time.

With our patriot search by email, you simply type up to 5 names in an email and hit send. The system decides (based on your configuration) whether or not a sufficient match was found, and returns the results in a few seconds. Instead of a screenshot, simply save the email to your operations system as a record of the search. We also provide an order number that you can use to view your search anytime.

At the end of the day, our email process can save you as much as 5 minutes per search with zero development cost. For an employee making $15 an hour, that’s a savings of $1.25 on every order. This also frees that employee to focus on more beneficial tasks for your company.

This type of “integration” by email is especially helpful for smaller companies who simply don’t have the budget to build a major integration.
